Eversource Energy Senior Engineer in Berlin, Connecticut
Job Description Summary:
Individual performs engineering functions in support of CONVEX Operations. Individual interfaces/supports ISO-NE and Participants in the development of CONVEX operating models and tools to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the transmission system in accordance with NERC, NPCC, and ISO-NE reliability criteria. Individual is responsible for maintaining SCADA and power-flow applications within the CONVEX Energy Management System (EMS); individual may also be involved with RTNET and RTCA and the development of base cases within the EMS. Participates in maintaining the Dispatch Training Simulator and may provide operator training on the use of the CONVEX EMS. Individual will support development and implementation of new software applications and upgrades to the CONVEX EMS. Individual also ensures appropriate inputs and telecommunication connectivity with external telemetry.
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. At least eight years of related experience is required. Experience with the GE (formerly Alstom) Grid EMS System is highly desirable. Individual must have strong communications and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate strong problem solving skills. Required to perform on-call duty for CONVEX Operations. Interfaces with Transmission and Distribution groups, CONVEX Participants including generators, ISO-NE and neighboring utilities.
The ability to pass a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) background check required.
